Art Reception: Sunrises, Sunsets and Things In Between

Ocean Art Gallery will showcase the photographic art of Kenny Fasnacht in a month-long show beginning with an opening reception on April 6 between 5 and 8 p.m. Fasnacht’s stunning photographs of Volusia and Flagler County coastal scenes grace the homes and offices of collectors throughout Florida. His vibrant images, often capturing sunrise and sunset, have a direct connection with Fasnacht’s faith, as evidenced by titles such as “His Colorful Morning Tide” and “Walk with Me.” Of particular interest to Fasnacht are the seascape and landscape scenes he discovers along the coquina shores of north Flagler and the tidal lands of The Loop in Ormond by the Sea. Between sunrises and sunsets, he captures the unending variety of wildlife and vegetation that make this part of Florida so special and attractive. After retiring from a 20-year career in the Navy, Fasnacht coached football at Nease High School in Ponte Vedra Beach before moving to Palm Coast with his wife, Lee. In 2010, Fasnacht dedicated himself to a professional career as a photographic artist, and in 2012, he caught the eye of Ocean Art Gallery owner, Frank Gromling, who immediately saw the strength of images captured in Fasnacht’s pictures. Ocean Art Gallery has represented Fasnacht ever since, with him twice being the gallery’s top selling artist. Everyone is welcome to the reception, which will be a part of Ormond Beach’s Art Walk.
