FLORIDA'S LOST ATTRACTIONS

James C. Clark, Ph.D., professor of history at the University of Central Florida will discuss bygone Sunshine State attractions such as Texas Jim's Sarasota Reptile Farm and Zoo, the Skull Kingdom, and Dixieland Amusement Park. Many were roadside stops used to lure travelers to a fruit stand or market. Some had oranges and sodas in the front and alligators in the back. Their heyday ran from the 1920s to the coming of Disney in 1971.
