How to Start a Business in Florida

Starting a business has many requirements: a strong business plan & financial foundation, experience and knowledge of the market you are entering, legal/permits - ordinance (local, county, state & federal) & regulatory requirements, taxes, logistics, human & building capital, and the list goes on.  This course was prepared to assist and provide current and future entrepreneurs with the knowledge and understanding of the process to have a business in Florida.

This workshop is being presented by David Shifflett, MBA, LUTCF, FSS, CSA.  David has been a SCORE Mentor since 2015. He retired from the Air Force, where he was an Air Force Aircraft Maintenance Superintendent. He worked as a Production Manager in a textile factory, transitioned from there to start his own business “FutureAssets” in 1995 as a Sole Proprietor, which grew to an S-corporation.
